18 and Over Devils
In 1991, the Chicago Devils started as an organization. Then known as “Team M” or “Merengue”, the team was formed with a group of local disc jockeys from the Chicago area who loved to play the game of baseball. “Team M” was managed by Lou Lusignan, a local disc jockey and sound/lighting engineer. Lusignan ran the organization from 1990-99, when he accepted Mike Skonieczny and Eric Page as co-managers. Due to injuries and personal life changes, Lusignan was forced to retire as manager prior to the 2000 season, when Page, Skonieczny and Frank Rodriguez took control and changed the name from "Team M" to “Brooklyn”. That season and the 2001 season proved to be challenging for the team, as numerous players relocated, including Rodriguez. With these challenges, another transition was forced in 2002, when "Brooklyn" merged with the Orioles, also of the Midwest Suburban League. This combined venture led to the formation of the "Sun Devils". With Page at the helm, the Sun Devils tied for the division championship and made it to the championship series, only to fall to the eventual champion. The team had its ups and downs from 2003-08, when the team dropped the “Sun” from its name and officially became the Chicago Devils. From 2002-20, the Devils have 4 division championships, 13 playoff appearances and 2 trips to the Championship Series, including winning the 2017 American Division Championship. The Devils continue to add talented baseball players in our annual quest for the MSL Championship Rings. |
35 and Over Devils
With an aging group of players in the 25 and over division, the Devils created the 35 and over team in 2010, as a member of the Chicago North Men’s Senior Baseball League. As a new team in a new division, the 35+ Devils have been constantly building during each year of existence. The team went from 2 non-playoff seasons, to earning playoff spots in 7 of the next 9 seasons. Although records have not shown substantial improvement, the team has branded a higher quality of on field play in each subsequent season. We are constantly looking to improve and add to a great group of baseball players and people. 18 and Over Red Devils
After the 2017 season and subsequent Fall league, a nucleus was formed to start a new team in the Central Division of the Midwest Suburban League. That nucleus formed the Red Devils who began play in the MSL in 2018. The first two seasons for the Red Devils ended without a playoff appearance, but the 2020 season saw the Red Devils finish in 2nd place in their division and made their first trip to the playoffs. Many roster changes have occurred over the short history of the Red Devils, including the addition of 3 MSL Hall of Famers and a father getting the chance to play with his twin sons. Although an older team, the maturity and baseball knowledge has increased positive results and we are seeking our first championship with this team in 2021. |
25 and Over Devils
The 25 and over Devils have been around since 1996, as part of the Chicago North Men’s Senior Baseball League (CNMSBL). Oddly enough, the team was known as the Angels from 1996-2007, when it took on the organization name and logo of the Devils.
The 25 and over Devils have won 3 championships (1996, 1997 & 2008) and have participated in 5 others, including 2012, 2013 & 2014. The 2014 season being the first with John Ham as Field Manager. In addition, the team has 6 division championships and has been in the playoffs in all but 4 of the 23 seasons played.
The 25 and over Devils were sold after the 2018 season and became the Pirates in the Chicago North Men's Adult Baseball League. Due to the 25+ Division folding, the Pirates followed suit and are no longer in existence.
